ExxonMobil awarded M-I SWACO to supply Offshore Thermal Desorption equipment for the new build Deepwater Champion Drill Ship. The contract is for two Offshore TCC Hammermill units combined with a CleanCut cuttings transfer and bulk storage system. The dual TCC Hammermill units will be double stacked on the drill ship and the 14 ISO pumps will be installed at varying locations on the ship.
This TCC Hammermill project for M-I SWACO demonstrates the companies’ commitment to offer the best available technology to maximise the overall effectiveness of cuttings treatment and to eliminate redundancy thus reducing the environmental footprint.
This commitment from M-I SWACO for TCC Technology adds two (2) additional TCC units to the M-I SWACO TCC Hammermill fleet taking the total M-I SWACO TCC units to seven (7). M-I SWACO holds a manufacturing license agreement from Thermtech AS and has designed and built their offshore solution under the brand name TCC Hammermill.

Break down: Thermtech AS
From waste to useful productsThermtech is a Norwegian company and the owner and supplier of the TCC technology, a patented and advanced thermal desorption technology able to treat various kinds of oily sludges. We are currently focused on the treatment of oily drilling waste. The TCC is a very gentle method for separation of the waste into useful products, securing re-use of the highly valuable base oil used in drilling fluids. For that reason a TCC operation is also commercially beneficial compared to other technologies or methodologies.
