The footprint of a TCC is smaller and the mobility higher than for any other thermal desorption technologies. The TCC equipment requires much less space than an indirect dryer, because it is in fact the surface of the many billion small solid particles that transfers heat to the liquids. For that reason, no other large heated surfaces are needed, and the hottest spot in the TCC process is actually the waste itself.
